Arizona Academic Standards for Dance

The Arizona Academic Standards for Dance create a broad structure within which highly qualified dance teachers can design a rich curriculum based on the needs of their students. These standards are articulated by developmental level rather than by grade level to acknowledge and accommodate the needs of students who have not received sequential, standards-based dance instruction throughout their academic experience. Teachers must assess the learning needs of their students and provide instruction at the appropriate level and pace.
