Minnesota Academic Standards in Social Studies

The 2011 Minnesota Academic Standards in Social Studies set the statewide expectations for K-12 student achievement in the disciplines of citizenship and government, economics, geography and history (United States and world). The 2011 standards are guided by a vision of citizenship and college-and career readiness. As required by law, the standards identify the academic knowledge and skills that prepare students for postsecondary education, work and civic life in the twenty-first century.
